1985 — Where It All Began
Geotrace was founded in 1985 by Darryl Critcher, whose vision was simple but powerful:
"To make every excavation safer and every project more certain."
Armed with decades of practical experience in construction and a strong moral compass, Darryl built Geotrace on three core values — safety, reliability, and integrity. From its earliest days, the company earned a reputation for precise work, transparent communication, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
2005 — A New Generation
In 2005, Darryl’s son Antony Critcher joined the business.
Having grown up around the industry, Antony brought a deep respect for the company’s values — and a passion for innovation. He quickly immersed himself in every aspect of Geotrace’s operations, learning the craft firsthand from fieldwork to client relationships.
Antony’s arrival marked the beginning of Geotrace’s next chapter: blending traditional expertise with modern technology and a forward-looking mindset.
2015 — Leadership and Growth
After a decade of hands-on experience, Antony was appointed Head of Operations and CEO in 2015.
With a strong customer focus and a clear vision for sustainable growth, Antony led the company through a period of professional expansion — strengthening safety standards, investing in new technologies, and achieving key industry accreditations.
Under his leadership, Geotrace continued to earn the trust of major clients across Australia’s utilities, infrastructure, and construction sectors, while maintaining the same family values that defined its beginnings.
